Popping in
Tomorrow at the Tampere Vocal Music Festival, the Helsinki Chamber Choir performs my ad puram annihilationem meam, which I wrote for them last year, at 20.00 in Tampere Cathedral. Percussionist Tim Ferchen does the honors on bass drum this time. The program includes the Finnish premieres of works by Kaija Saariaho and my countryman Claude Vivier, who out-weirds me without even trying. Friday, at the festival's choral review, HOL performs Sora/Mizu (Sky/Water), the fall movement from Shiki from our new CD, as well as works by Selim Palmgren, Einojuhani Rautavaara and Brahms. Welcome to anyone who happens to be in central Finland this week.
